# A Short Explanation for Silence
A dedicated blogger – as opposed to someone like me who needs to be prodded to brag about the defeat of the hapless – would have already detailed their short sojourn in Queensland. I couldn’t be arsed. I finally uploaded some of the pictures from the trip last night and gave them titles and the like which leaves me with no more excuses to not blog about it.
I went to Bundaberg for a few days either side of the New Year. It was hot. Not as hot as I had been expecting and secretly hoping for, but still hot enough that I – who should know better – managed to get burnt.
There are pictures, mostly taken by D and tWM so there is a noticeable bias towards goats and the like.
The one thing that I don’t seem to have photographs of is Dean and Andi’s place. We stopped in the day we flew into Hervey Bay while driving to Bundaberg. It is great seeing what they are doing, even if the closest I might actually come to replicating it is to move to Bringelly, the closest rural area to where I live now – only fifteen minutes, that is and still on town water and electricity. Dean has to routinely be aware of exactly how much juice he is using and even how thick the copper wire from his batteries needs to be. All respect to you, Dean, but so not for me.

Hi David, glad you made it back safely. Was good to chat in person – been a while ;-). And to meet D and tWM.
Steel frame goes up on the 27th. Should get interesting from there.

You see, I very cunningly timed my visit so that it would not be possible for Dean to use my services for any kind of heavy lifting and the like. It was all the more cunning because I did it all without knowing – when I booked my flights – that there would be any possibility at all of heavy lifting. The steel was on the property at the same time as I but as he just said, Dean wasn’t ready to erect the frame. I kind of feel bad…but not enough that I will be flying up to Queensland to erect a steel frame. That’s what Dean has a brother for.

Nice timing indeed. We could have lifted some pieces of steel, and put them back down again. If only to round out your travel photos ;-)
Let me know your next trip up and I will coordinate some other work – likely involving shoveling – into your intinerary.
