There is a fitness group where I work; unsure if it is new or if they have just picked up again after a hiatus, but either way the didn’t hold sessions in the last three weeks and they held one today. I joined because, well, my BMI is on the wrong side of overweight.

Ok, candidly, it is barely on the right side of obese.
We started with a run of maybe half a kilometer from the office to Observatory Park (note: we went the direct way, not those directions) about half of which is up hill. At that point I was wrecked.
There was another throughly unfit person there so I didn’t feel too bad about it, and the girl running the thing gave us lighter things to do once we were in the park.
D and I had started daily walks late last year, which we more or less stopped doing because…of some reason or another. I forget what it was exactly but I don’t think it was because we just got lazy, some obstacle did arise. It was probably when tWM went back to dancing classes for the year and evenings were made unavailable for anything but shuttle work.
Those walks weren’t doing much for me in terms of heart rate, but I was still coming home a little sore. Not sore right now – I expect that comes tomorrow morning – but the hour afterwards is basically a blur of shattered hand-eye-coordination and slurred words.
She, the leader, wanted to know if I will be back next week. A guarded yes was the answer. From the range of geek stereotypes I personify, I will hold onto my low-grade misanthropy and gaming addiction, but I’m going to relinquish my girth.
