# A bullet in the head of credibility

An elderly Iraqi woman shows two bullets which she says hit her house following an early coalition forces raid in the predominantly Shiite Baghdad suburb of Sadr City.
Look, its more than likely – probably even certain – that bullets actually did hit this ladies house. It is the kind of thing that happens.
But come on! Couldn’t whoever was responsible for taking the picture at least have made sure that the bullets she was holding were bullets that had been fired? Or did some poor GIs rifle jam and he resorted to throwing the stupid things?
Like I said, it most probably did happen, but that photo is as staged as any aircraft carrier banner. The most important thing a journalist can have is credibility. After all, the snide definition of journalism is the art of coming off like you have a clue about what you are describing. Photos like these give fuel to those that want – no, actually, they need – to call into question the credibility of journalists covering the Iraqi occupation.

# Some good and bad. He's pretty ugly as well
If I lived under the belief that someone had to care about my opinion before I said it, why, I’d never write anything.
It should go without saying that while I am as pleased as punch to Saddam Hussein convicted, I couldn’t and won’t support or celebrate his execution.
